Why can't we ask questions?

Why is that everytime you ask an innocent question on here, just because you are curious about something, everyone thinks you have problems and starts turning into your psychologist!!????!!!!

I know, like I always wondered if, since you can be "overwhelmed" and "underwhelmed" can you just be "whelmed"? I'd never dare ask it though :)

I've noticed that too! if you ask a question about a subject, lots of users assume that this is a personal problem of yours and start advising you to see a dr etc! Some questions are just asked out of interest!

It works both ways as well - I've answered a couple of questions in all honesty giving the best response to the information given and the people asking have turned round and accused me of being stupid/wrong/whatever.

What's the point in asking a question when you're apparently the "expert" and start an argument?

I know what you mean sholay - you can only try your best & if your best isn't good enough, then don't offer advice to that person again.

If theyalready know all the answers why ask the question in the first place?!!!!

I usually manage to go back & correct my spelling mistakes. The requests for an edit facility would be a great advantage. If you can edit Q's you should be able to edit A's too!

Gef - that's precisely what I meant - you can edit a Question before posting it, but you can't do the same with an Answer! Maybe one day eh?!
