My car had the door passenger side window, broken into a thousand pieces a couple of days ago in broad daylight. No one saw or heard any thing.
Because I am not fully comp it is costing approx £450 to put it right. Thing is I am now fearful of parking it where it was in our car park off street. People dont think it was someone with anything against me, but we cant be sure.
Is there anything like a camera I can have installed ? I am a pensioner on my own.

It's far more likely to be an isolated incident than a grudge attack (unless, of course, there's a specific reason for such an attack, such as you recently having informed upon a local villain). Someone from the garage said because nothing was taken it could have had a minute crack/hole and sitting in the sun all day it has just cracked under the heat.
This was the very reason that I insured my banger fully comp. The cost is little different from third party for an old car and can even be cheaper in some cases. The cost of windscreen/glass insurance is silly, so at least ask about fully comp next time round.

Thank you someone else has just told me the very same thing, I thought it was really very much more expensive.
I am die to renew on the 8th May, so I will ask about it x

With regard to insurance, it's often the case that 'fully comp' insurance can actually be cheaper than 3rd party. Mine is!
A window from a scrap yard would be a lot cheaper. I had a smashed window on an old VW Golf a replacement from the scrap yard was £10 and only took 1/2 an hour to fit it my self. Garage wanted £250 !
that seems very expensive to me if its just to supply and fit a new window. have you tried phoning local car dissmantlers/breakers? don't know what car you have but i've just looked on ebay and you can get complete doors with glass from £10 up to £80 (second hand) then get a local garage to fit it.
Like others, I'd be looking for a window from a breaker's yard. I'd either find it myself, using this website
http://www.breakeryard.com/
or get my local garage to find the part for me. (A decent garage should have offered to do that for you anyway unless, of course, you're silly enough to go to a main dealer).
tamaris, £450 is ridiculously expensive to replace a side window ( unless it's a Rolls Royce, Bentley etc ), do what the others have suggested ( get the window from a breakers and get an independent mechanic to fit it ) and it will cost you a fraction of £450.
You could buy an entire door with window from a scrap yard for a lot less than £450. Then it is just a case of undoing the door hinges and screwing the new ones on. I did that to a Volvo estate with a door that was dented. Whole door cost £25 in a scrap yard.
I think I will echo what has already been said. First find the cheapest option to buy a car parts location service like http://www.carsparefinder.co.uk. This way you can compare quotes and fully understand the real cost of the item.
Then a mobile garage, will probably cost less than a garage that has rent and staff to pay for, to get it fitted.
