Like weights, heights, lengths and money are all becoming metric, most of them already are, basically making everything a 10 or 100 or 1000 in relation to each other. will time ever become a metric measurement, will measuring it ever change?

The concept which gathered most interest (but still was not yet adopted anywhere) was to standardise the calendar which included fixing Easter so it is always at the same date amongst other things. That would still leave non-Christians out of the loop unless they chose to take up the idea and that seems even less likely.
jake is correct. The SI unit of time is the second and it can be split into various decimal fractions. However longer periods of time are based om natural occurences, the day, the year etc and it would not make any sense to change them. All other standard units, kilogram, metre etc are "man-made".

Time was first measured or more accurately attempted to be measured by the Babylonians who had a base 60 numeric system, this is why we have 60 seconds in a minute and 60 minutes in an hour.
Most people don't tend to deal with other measuring systems on a constant daily basis but do with time, time is central to our entire life. The possible consequence of changing from one system to another could be catastophic, if you think the hype over the millenium bug was bad how do you think messing with every second would work out.
