Is the UK the first Country to raise the price of Petrol, because of the situation in Iraq?

countries don't raise the price of petrol, companies do.
we just raise fuel prices no matter what is happening elsewhere, higher prices equals more tax.

So woofgang, petrol companies raise the duty on petrol, not the chancellor.
I never knew that.
How often does he do that? He doesn't control the price, just the tax on it.

Your OP referred to the 'Price' not the Duty!
Higher prices does mean more tax of course. The government doesn't put the price up, though, as already noted. I don't know if that is that the OP meant
