I need to replace a toilet siphon on a close coupled cistern. The existing siphon has SRC on the top cover. I was wondering if I could replace it with a Fluidmaster kit and do the inlet at the same time?

The old siphon and inlet seem to have been sealed with a combination of silicon and what I presume to be plumbers mate. I guess all this needs to be cleaned off and a new close coupling kit fitted as well?
Suggestions if the fluidmaster is suitable appreciated.

Not sure what they've done with the silicon/mait, kawa.
No matter.

Replace the syphon and inlet/float with the Fluidmaster. Nice simple job.

Of course, the cistern will have to be separated from the pan so as to install the new syphon.

If the mechanical gubbins that holds the two together is Ok, then just reassemble with a new doughnut washer if necessary. It may be Ok .

Here is the whole kit..............
