Is there anyway to heal/repair them so they can grow out normally? I have a split on the left edge of my right thumb. The nail will grow...then the split causes it to catch on things and I have to trim it down very short.
To be honest, Pasta, I haven't really tried that hard; however, I'm hesitant to post new threads under "stuey" as I get an email every time I get a response, and I find this irritating. I "unchecked" the box which asks if I want to subscribe to my threads, but I still get emails. Anyway, try applying a small amount of glue using a toothpick.
I've not looked at that video,mamya...but I did try a patch with a teabag. It was messy doing it with my left hand. I also worried about getting glue on my skin. Maybe I'll ask my daughter to do it when she next visits.
You can buy a clear nail polish called "Hard-as-nails" (with Nylon) by Sally Hansen which will hold it in place until it able to grow out.
Often use it on a damaged finger nail.
