External Hard Drive Help
6 Answers
I have just bought a 1TB 'my passport' ultra external hard drive and want to transfer about 15000 music tracks, in about 30 different folders, from my laptop to new hard drive. What is the best and safest way, cop and paste, drag and drop etc etc. Any help and advice much appreciated, thanks.

First COPY the files from your PC to the EHD (using any method you like). These are your BACKUPS.
Then MOVE the files from your PC to the second EHD, and these are the files you are going to use.
External Hard drives contain moving parts and they can easily crash or be dropped or be lost or stolen so it important to have the files backed up on a second external hard drive.
