How good is your luck ? If someone is "unlucky" enough to have been caught before, they could be caught again. The US police and government don't like liars. Nor do insurance companies. Do you really fancy going without insurance ? US medical bills can be crippling, and not revealing a conviction on an application for insurance will invalidate any policy.
I`m sure people have and got away with it. I wouldn`t chance it though. I have never seen a question about criminal convictions on an insurance application though - it`s not one of the questions.
There again, you wouldn't need insurance if you got caught and ended up in prison. Not a pleasant thought considering the differences between our two legal systems.
Insurance companies expect you to disclose all relevant information, whether explicitly requested or not. They would surely regard it as relevant if you have a criminal conviction which you fail to disclose. Read the small print.
I haven't - but I would. (As long as it wasn't a terrorism conviction, which they probably have on their own books). Though there's probably some information-sharing over drugs and bombings, they don't normally have access to UK justice records.
