I have a work rota that has long weekends off (Sat to Monday) every other week. However, this costs me an extra £8 a month in travel expenses.
The other rota gives every other weekend off btw -so it is just the extra Monday that is essentially difference
So is it worth £8 extra for the 2 Mondays off ?

Well if I work at the weekend it's overtime, boxy.
Ah, that's different then. OH works when the work's offered. No specific days.
Right, I see boxy.
I thought everyone got extra working weekends too. I don't know anyone who doesn't, personally.
Nope, not the norm around here. I guess it depends on which sector you're working in, and what it says in your contract. OH works whatever days they offer him - no work, no pay.....
Yes, it must do, i suppose.

methyl - don't give up yet - i said 7 days travelcard .....that is ...err .. weekly
"City unknown and Transporter unknown " .....how is that relevant ?
Anyway i have done all calculations -i'm just gauging members opinions on what they would choose
Have you got a partner and what is their work schedule?
Well it would depend on personal circumstances, I'd give up more than £8 to get a Monday off now but when I was younger and poorer I'd take the £8
How much is a travel card compared with just paying for Friday by itself? Is it worth just getting a week's travel card every Monday, whether you're working 4 or 5 days?
