When did Mitsubishi stop in Europe? They still seem to have a full sales and servicing network

Hi there: All Japanese cars are good, but of course it depends what you gauge them against. Is there such as thing as a bad car made today, I doubt it – but then you won't have the Chinese-made ones in Europe just yet. Here in South Africa we are inundated with them, they are not good, some don't even have ABS brakes, no Eurocap test for them, methinks. Basically steer clear of them even if they are priced to sell ... You didn't mention Mazda, now they are good. Funny, but I've never met anyone here who had bought, say a Honda or Mazda and wouldn't consider purchasing another. It just doesn't happen. Personally I'm not mad about Korean cars (bought a new one about 7 years ago and it took me 10 months to get rid of it, and could only sell it back to the dealer [Hyundai] no one else would look at it). Yankee cars, German cars and French cars are good – Italian ones less so – who else is there? Stick with a Jap brand and you won't go far wrong ... hope my rambling helps to ease your mind just a little ... retired motoring scribbler.
methyl must have had a bad experience. In my experience Nissan are excellent quality and reliability. I'd Say Honda/Nissan/Toyota are all pretty well equivalent. Honda possibly edges it for me but I have a soft spot for Nissan. Datsun is a badge owned by Nissan. Not sure why methly thinks Mitsubishi no longer sell here: http:// www.mit subishi -cars.c o.uk/de alers/
Nissan are relaunching the Datsun brand in some countries.
