Avast! Antivirus

Have uninstalled anti-virus on my laptop but it is still running and updating ! It does not show up as an installed programme on the un-installer .How do i get rid of it ?

Did you restart your computer after uninstall?

Also get a program called CCleaner and use that to uninstall it. http://download.cnet.com/CCleaner/

Why not use Avasts own un-installer?

Thanks for answers. Had tried both to no avail ! Ended up re-installing then un-installing .Success !
