into google and it will give you loads of links

eg. www.snoop4directors.co.uk
also Companies House will provide limited info

Can you not just ask the business?

Companies House, or the Company Director thing (bearing in mind that directors aren't necessarily the owners anyway), will only work for limited companies. They won't tell you anything about partnerships or sole traders which is of course what the majority of "businesses" are.
