I would always stand up to let an older person sit down, a pregnant woman or someone who is disabled or has small kids with them, or if the person looked ill, she's not old though, and she's disgraceful. Her name is Sue Wilkins and she has thankfully been arrested- apparently she said she was having a ' bad day'- not as bad as the passengers who had to put up with her though :(

Go+k for the young who may be reading is from the Korean War ( 1950-3) and Vietnam War ( 1965-1973) and surprises me that it still survives.

Goo+s in the wire ! meant that the Viet Cong had entered the camp and were coming to kill you !

COnsidering Vietnam is now such an economic basket case,
it is even more surprising that they managed to defeat America in 1973

Barking, yes. No, i don't teach my children to do that - only to stand up in the same circumstances i would- for someone who appeared to need the seat more than we did (elderly/disabled/heavily pregnant etc).

It always used to be a condition of the half-fare on London Transport, and others, that a child stood up for an adult to have the seat.
