Think it means police have completed their enquiries. You should now write to them requesting that your property be returned to you.
It means they've looked into it and it's not stolen, so you can have it back.
..and you need to tell them in the next 14 days from the date of the letter, otherwise they'll bin it.

It means you have 14 days from today (whenever today was) to let them know if you want it back or they will dispose of it.

As the dvla would not let me tax the camper it had 3 months tax and mot on it when the police took it will I be entitled to have the camper taxed and mot by the police also the insurance was cancelled by the insurance company as I had to inform them of the circumstances
Were I you, I'd really want an answer as to whether you are entitled to compensation because they deprived you of your property's use for six months. I'd also want to make sure that it's returned in the same condition it was in when they took it. They are very good at tearing things to bits in the search for evidence, not so good at putting them back.

And mind they don't deliver it back to you and then nick you for having an untaxed/uninsured car with no MOT on the road outside your house. I'd say they should at least MOT it so you can tax then insure it before they return it.
i would think it very unlikely they would MOT it for you, although you may have some luch with the tax issue, although tax is not issued in 3 month blocks
They're not going to tax etc it for you - it was seized as potential evidence of a crime. Speak to them, don't hang about or they'll just dispose of it. Where is it, where are you?
Yes it means it was not a stolen van so you can have it back.
I am astounded that you have to apply to have your own property returned though. I would have expected them to deliver it to you.
Little if any chance of compensation though unless you can prove the police acted illegally in seizing it in the first place.

I have already emailed them and I am sending a recorded delivery letter on Monday.
So are they asking you to go and fetch it from Scotland?
Question Author
I am in scotland I will be asking them to bring it back to my door

Cheers methyl I had thought of those things and will be putting them on a cover letter
Yes please let us know what happens, it is one thing to size the van to investigate a theft, but to have to write and ask for it back when the investigation is over and you are in the clear is unacceptable in my view.
