Hi there
despite being eating a healthy diet over the last 5 days since my injection on wednesday in my shoulder my blood sugars have risen quite sharply. After lunch when I checked they were 15 and first thing this morning they were 10 something I have not had for weeks average has been 7.3 over the month. Could the cortesoid injection raise blood sugars? And how long will it take to return to normal

Not sure myself (don't think so)- but just to check - you are taking the same medication and same levels of exercise?
My apologies. Apparently it can raise blood sugar levels in diabetics "for a few days", so your medication may need to be adjusted temporarily. Speak to your diabetic nurse- they may just let you ride it out, if it's not too high.
gordie...yes, it is possible that your steroid injection could raise your blood sugars, but it should soon settle......BUT :
15 after lunch ( up to 2hrs) is not that too bad.
10 in the morning is a bit high, not too bad, but it is always high in the morning.

No need for concern as i feel that you are eating too much and possibly taking too much alcohol.......cut down.
