Yes! Absolutely fascinating. I was wondering why Adam Ricketts looked so thin and pasty on "The Games" and now I know. Although some people may look at the programme and wonder why celebs are taking part (thinking they're doing it to boost their profile) I think bloody fair play to them for tackling such a trek. I know I certainly couldn't make it. Can't wait till next week to see how they get on.

If it was supposed to "re-enacting" what happened , why were they given training,protective clothing, & a guide to set them on the right track??

I couldn't have done it with the guide and warm clothing! I think the celebrities deserve some credit and people should stop knocking it!

And the people who did actually have to go through that, eating their friends, not wearing protective clothing, etc. are Amazing and brave people!!!!!!

...but why send "celebrities" to follow in the footsteps of these heroic men...?...why just not have an expedition with survival experts...or perhaps a college rugby team...?...why do we have to endure f****** celebrities doing all these reality shows...?...and before anyone chips in with the "they were doing it to highlight the heroism of these men"...then it's bull ! a tv prog on ch5 is not going to raise the profile of the andes air disaster anymore than exists already....

Ok, maybe channel 5 is not the best of channels. But why do you think they wanted celebrities? To try and raise their profile and get people talking (Just like we're doing now) And of course the celebs are trying to raise their profile, which celeb wouldn't?

But don't you think if most of us normal people went on this programme, it's not that they would be interested, but because they want their 5 minutes of fame too?

I was interested in watching it because Jean-Christophe Novelli was on it, but that's completely changed. I'm fansinated with what happened to the people! I wasn't very hopeful on it, but I was so interested by the end!

..I must admit that I could only bear to watch 10 mins of the "documentary"... I read the book when I was 13, seen the film 3-4 times (always cry) and seen countless documentarys featuring the survivors... I don't need some failed actor , a chef etc to raise the profile of something that happened in 1972, people have always talked about the andes air disaster, now people are just talking about the mockery ch5 are making out of the whole incident..

...the bottom line of such reality shows is that the "professional entertainers" panicked when shows like Big Brother, Driving School, and Survivor took off, the great british public prefered to watch everyday people doing everyday things...the celebs all just jumped on the bandwagon of reality tv because they were all scared shi*less thay would all be out of a job...

...the book and film, feature religion and faith * as the main focus, and also the lust for life of the survivors (most of who were aged 19-24) in my opinion the ch5 "documentary" just belittles what happened in 1972 .

* I am an atheist by the way, just incase anyone thinks I'm on a religious trip...

But you know, I sit here with my computer, alone I might add, with a bar of chocolate and a programme with Jean-Christophe is all I need to cheer me up! But I did find the programme interesting as I'd never heard anything about the andes plane crash. (Don't worry I haven't been living in a box since 1971, I'm just young that's all ;-)

..good point silversky, ch5 probably is highlighting the disaster to a whole new generation, but then again they could just have screened the film Alive (without the documentary)... sorry I'm like a dig with a bone...I aint gonna let go...(stubborn cow that I am)

...I am a retired chef (god that makes me feel old! I'm only 37, but gave it up when I had my daughter)....may go back to it one day...
