I have just had an email purporting to come from Paypal, that says that
"online access to your Paypal account has been suspended, due to invalid information provided. To have your online account reinstated, you need to verify your online service access"
I am guessing that this an attempt at fraud, and I haven't clicked on the link but I thought I would let everybody else know. The email looks awfully official though, and I am not at all surprised that some many people are getting caught out.
Delete it. If ought is awry it will be apparent to you when you go to your account. If you can tell paypel the scammers email address that might be useful.
Mikey, if in any doubt, go to your paypal account on a new tab, and log in separately. If you can get it then it's definitely a scam. Bears out the "never click on a link in a dodgy looking email" advice....
If the e-mail is genuine it will address you by your full name i.e. Dear Jonathan Strauss.
If no salutation name is given it is a spoof which can be redirected back to paypal for investigation.
