Bank Holiday/Sick Pay

Hi,

I'm currently off work on SSP from my employer and have been for a few months now. With the bank holidays coming up should i get ssp still or full pay for those days as if i was working i would have them off with full pay. Does anyone know?

For SSP, days you normally work are called Qualifying Days and you get paid SSP for those days. Bank Holidays do not affect Qualifying Days so the short answer is yes you get SSP (topped up to full pay if the contract allows.)

I'm in the same situation as you - off long term on ssp. You will need to check your contract to confirm, but as far as i'm aware, if your company sick pay has run out/you never recieved company sick pay to begin with, the chances are you will only recieve ssp. Just in case you weren't aware, you are intitled to housing and council tax benefit while on ssp. Hope i've been of some help!
