are we talking about the bit that the hose pipe attaches to and then screws on to the tap?
If so then you should be able to unscrew that piece and just replace it with a new one or check the washer inside the threaded part.

Listen Ratter. I went to Wickes with the piece I wanted to connect to in my hand. I tried to get an assistant to help me but in Wickes in Hove that's impossible. So a very kind man also looking at Hozelock connectors pointed out the right connection which was all packaged up so I couldn't try it but he assured me it was the correct one. Got home, took it out of the packaging, didn't fit. So it ain't just women.
Hi everyone I bought a new sprayer with all the connections included and found I could just unscrew the bottom bit and screw on the new one and it WORKS Mr Builder you are right I underestimate myself lol. I do however think sometimes that men make it sound more complicated than it is (not you Mr Builder) so that we will think how clever they are!!!
