we have been twice to perranporth and torquay but we want to go on our own this year without the family ,can anyone recommend a place preferably with entertainment anywhere else in cornwall.

St Ives? - Newquay is a shiite hole in my book (and most Cornish folk too)

Good beaches, restaurants, galleries, small shops then there is the night life there. Plenty of flats, bandbs, etc etc.....you have to be staying in the town to bring a car in - that ends in October at some point.

there are other places than st ives and newquay on the north coast. agree not the best paces to go. st I is okay out of season.

Your first response is a bit ambiguous DTC, it could imply most Cornwall folk are a shiite hole. :)

oops - no, what most people think of Newquay.

Smaller 'resorts' - North Coast but scale down the nightlife to pubs...Port Isaac, St Agnes, Sennen. Avoid Hayle too..and Penzance. Padstow - but remember that is Stein City, the St Enedoc area is popular but quite la-di-da and we call it Kensington-in-Cornwall.

Si Ives - in the town is relatively flat, big hills around to get in and out of it.

The buggers have moved Torquay into Cornwall? It was still in Devon last time I was there!! They can't leave anything alone these days!!
