Has anybody been to Circus Vegas or Zippo's Circus?
Are they any good? As a guide, we've had both the Moscow State Circus and the Chinese State Circus - so are the above two on a par with these, better or worse.
I've heard of Zippo's, but not the Vegas one and can't find a website for it!
The Moscow State Circus and Chinese State Circus both have performance budgets vastly bigger than smaller travelling circuses such as Zippo's (which keeps largely to a traditional British format) or Circus Vegas (which uses an American format). So you shouldn't expect either of them to be anywhere near to the standards of the States Circuses. On Netmums,...
I went to Oxford Circus once but it was a terrible disappointment...no lions, tigers or elephants to be seen anywhere. I also went to Piccadilly Circus and
I can't help feeling that a lot of Doctors and Nurses must hang out there in their spare time, judging by the discarded syringes everywhere.

The only animal acts in Zippo's circus are horses and budgerigars. The horses are probably far better treated than most those involved in either showjumping or dressage and the budgies are probably better off than those in the homes of people who keep them permanently in cages:

I personally like it when the lions tell the trainers what they think of his training methods.
Tuvok - I have heard of Zippos and know someone who went to a show and they enjoyed it thoroughly. I suppose it also depends upon how long an attention span your pal has.
I'm leaning towards Zipoos - if they do the usual half price vouchers.
I'm not sure about the Circus Vegas for a few reasons - one of which is lack of website. Also their vouchers say price with voucher is xx, but don't list what it would cost without voucher!
I remember when circuses had animals and a Ringmaster - and Zippos has both - just horses and budgies and Ringmaster.
The only thing we both thought disapointing were the trio of clowns - especially when one of them was barely in the act.
You expect the clowns to turn up as fillers between the different acts - they didn't.
There was a single clown - billed as a comedy entertainer - and he was present almost all the time and was better than the others. He also had the warmup act and his own act.
