i'm looking for a private chalet in europe to sleep 18 people (9 bedrooms) can anyone give me an idea where to look?

i've tried the main tour operators but they want �14000 for 1 week !!!!

most chalets that can accommodate 18 do so in a combination of 2, 3 & 4 bedded rooms - to get 9 x twin/double you'll probably need a chalet for 20 or more.

just looking at a number of resort sites (la plagne, les gets, deux alpes....) average catered chalet cost is �450 to �500 pppw, so if you want exclusive use of the chalet, �10-14k isn't going to be far wide of the mark.

but, try googling "ski chalet sleeps 18", you should get plenty of hits to be going on with.
