In between futilely attempting to get some work done (mind not on the job at all) and AnswerBanking, I’ve spent the whole morning popping in and out of my conservatory trying to catch a trapped butterfly - and all the while talking to him – “Come on you silly thing – don’t be scared - hop in the glass - you’ll die if you stay in here” – you know the sort of thing. I got him in the end and he’s fluttered off to freedom, so I’m very pleased I persevered.

Well done....how did you know it was a "he"? Don't tell me....daft enough to get trapped in the first place?
Well done Naomi! Persistance! I did the same today with a wasp, took a while but saw no need to kill it,even if it didnt pay its admission fees!!
well done naomi we had the same the other day it was a beauty as well
Same as you Naomi, as long as it takes:-)
Over the last couple of days.....about 5 minutes for 3 butterflys. All successfully liberated.
God bless you, Naomi. A respect for life, even one so ephemeral as that of a butterfly, speaks well of a person.

gingejbee, haaa! Very good!

Zacs, you're just showing off! ;o)
I just leave them till it's time to shut the doors etc...or I'd be saving assorted flying things all day !
That's lovely Naomi, glad you did. I'd spend a while too. Every time I walk past our pool I sped some time trying to fish some floundering thing out because its life is just a important a mine.

///A beauty///
You in Camberwell bernie?
I do go round saving them once I've declared doors shut ! I have a long dusting stick..like ken dodd...that picks them up nicely...I also have a saucer with a honey solution to feed tired bees !
I did too kval with two earwigs floundering in the kids pool yest.Hope you ok? Stuck up for you earlier!
Good on yer Naomi and everyone who helps wildlife to survive.

Hans.
I would take as long as it takes too, anything leggy with or without wings - except spiders.
Me too, prudie. And i have a feeling if it had been a spider, Naomi would have actually been on the conservatory roof, too;-)
Well done Naomi. I would have taken as long as it takes too. I wouldnt have settled until it had got its freedom. Butterflies are so beautiful and we see so few of them npwadays, they are precious. x
