But years ago in Cyprus we used to drink Keo lager beer. There was a kind of sharp bitterness to it that many of us didn't like. Our answer was to order an additional small bottle of "still" orange lemonade, with a straw. Placing a finger over the end of the straw, we'd each add a straw-full of the orange to our lager. This didn't change the taste of the lager to any great extent, but it really killed off the bitterness, and made the lager much more palatable.
Maybe you've discovered the same effect for yourself. Well done!
(P.S. Make a cup of instant coffee. Make a second cup as well, but add a teensy pinch of salt, and stir. Try them both. See how the salt kills any inherent bitterness, and makes the coffee taste that bit sweeter?)
Cheers!
I really didnt think it was the usual to drink larger and lime but it seems it is become so!!!
Just like to tell you that there are stranger thins than Beer with orange squage. In Scotland you will find out that a lot of lager beer drinkers are drinking what we calleda lager shandy, who is Beer and lemonade. you pore the beer first and on the top you add a dash of lemonade, an other on is an half and half, you pore first lemonade and then add beer. In belgium there are other variations, such as having a lager with Grenadine Who is a exotic fruit, and that is called a (Tango) and something stranger there is a beer who is called a Parrot and this is beer with green Mind sirop. In Belgium you have beer who is called Rodenbach, well this one this beer is a fruit beer made of cherry's and is for somea wee bit onthe sour side well some people add sugar or Grenadine to it, there is even a place where it is tradition to drink this beer with a portion of gray prowns, the place is called Blankenbergen and is on the coast. The best for doing is on the day when the prawn ficher boats coming in the harbor you can buy the prowns directly from the ships and it is cheaper than the fish monger. So if you have the chance to go abroad just try it, and then tell your bar staff that there are stranger things happening with beer. So drink what you like not what other tell you what to drink, every body is different.
