I can't see that it's any different to believing in, say, Christianity or Islam. Why is it that we're allowed to mock some totally irrational beliefs (such as those of this MP or of David Icke ) but expected to 'respect' other ones?

Mikey, //I am going to put you [Naomi] on the spot...if believing in a supernatural God is irrational, then why doesn't Astrology come into the same category ?//
Proof positive that you either don’t read, or you fail to comprehend, a word that anyone else says. See my post at 15.39 where I said “I imagine people who believe this stuff are cheered up by a positive horoscope.”
Why don’t you take a step back from your apparently relentless ‘outrage’ and think?

This is more in the way of a pre-emptive strike, in case we get people saying how wonderful homeopathy is :::: from the Wiki entry ::::
"The American College of Medical Toxicology and the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology recommend that no one use homeopathic treatment for disease or as a preventive health measure. These organizations report that no evidence exists that homeopathic treatment is effective, but that there is evidence that using these treatments produces harm and can bring indirect health risks by delaying conventional treatment"
Not much wriggle room is there ?
