getting music files on to a MP3 player?!!

Hi

My husband has just bought an MP3 player and I know this sounds a really silly question but how do you download music on to it? it just keeps saying No Files when we go into the music part. What I have been doing is opening up the harddrive that the MP3 player is connected to and clicking and dragging music files from my iTunes thingy.

I did however (the truth comes out eventually!!) open up the MP3 ultilities from the start menu and opened MP3 player disk tool, from here it said something about formatting disk so I did but it said that all info would be lost or something, is this why we cant get music on it? Oh blimey! I think I should have come on here first and asked what to do instead of fiddling! Please help!

It's ok! panic over! We've managed to sort it! Phew!

Def gonna start to read instruction's properly before messing in future.
