Car Vacs
8 Answers
My OH keeps on about getting a car vac as he hates all the trailing wires on my house vac. I keep telling him that I`d heard the effect wasnt as good. Not very strong suction. Has anyone on here got one to comment on, or could recommend which one to buy should he decide ( and take no notice of me )

Sometimes, with these things, only word of mouth recommendations are useful. We are quite willing to pay if its good but dont want it being stuck still in its box at back of the garage
We bought one of these http:// www.ama zon.co. uk/Elec trolux- Handhel d-Recha rgeable -Discon tinued- Manufac turer/d p/B008H FOGZU not specifically for the car but it is very good for a handheld but they're never going to be as powerful as a mains unit. It's not available now but you might find somewhere with one, I'd certainly recommend it, we paid £48 which put it between the cheapies and the Dysons.
With the car Valeting I do, I use a Henry, they are very good T.O.H. but you have to carry them to the car, I use the Wet / Dry, you can get a 2nd hand one for under £30, well worth the money with all the accessories including the pipes that get all the dropping between the seat areas, tell him not to be a tight rse, it will pay off if you intend to sell the car on, it will save you getting the car valeted.
