When I posted above ^^^, I had a feeling you might come back with the thousand dollar question.
It is very difficult to say because all depends upon the lengths of the e/mails,
not the actual number. However, having once read that 8GB is more than enough for 2000 songs, I feel it safe to say that 8GB would be more than enough to meet your requirements.
Hans. I have a similar email problem as aog. I tried your link but am unsure where to find the directory which holds my mail files as per instruction 2 in the link.
Here is a screenshot after following the instructions of click on Tools, Option and Maintenance.
It's such a long time since I last used Outlook Express. So much so that I have forgotten more than I can remember.
I am assuming sir.prize that you also are operating with Outlook Express, in which case, as I am struggling for an answer, perhaps the following link will be of some help. :-
I don't know if this will help but,
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Click TOOLS
3. Click OPTIONS
4. Click MAINTENANCE Tab
5. Click STORE FOLDER on the square button
This will show you where all your e-mails are stored.
Sir, I have a small program on my XP called OE Viewer which allows you to see and read your OE e-mails in DBX forrmat. Google for OE Viewer and you will see a FREE version from CNET.
When downloaded you can select the DBX folder which contains all related e-mails and then highlight one message and select "Message View" under FILE and you can then read the selected message.
Hope this helps.
1. Did OE ever had a dbx import function? eg someone wants to import emails from an ailing computer (or an unbootable but still readable HDD) to a new machine?
2. Can OE dbx files be read and imported (including merge with existing data) by Windows Live Mail (Win7 Home Premium in my case)
