I have what I think is a Gangolin on my shoulder. Yesterday I felt my right wrist and I think I can feel a small one on the palm side just where your forearm starts.
Is there anything I can do to prevent the one on my wrist getting bigger. I have had the one on my shoulder for a couple of years and does not cause any pain etc.
My late father had a few of these lumps on his wrists and around his knees. He had them cut out on the NHS here back in the 1970's then they returned and he had more surgery in Saudi Arabia in the early 1980's which was more successful. He suffered with flatulence and he used to call them his wandering farts.
Anyone else got them or knows about prevention?

As far as I know there is nothing you can do to stop ganglion cysts getting any bigger.
There's nothing you can do to prevent them occurring (or getting bigger).

This covers all of the key information:

Apparently you hit them hard with a heavy Bible (King James version is the only one that works). :-)

I have heard that one New Judge. No one wants to hit me though. (Which is good in one way) looks like I will be turning into my Dad without the flatulence. I will go to the docs if the one on my wrist grows and there may now be new techniques nowadays that will be more successful than my Dad's.
