If they simply ignored its existence, that would be fine. Israel would then ignore them in turn, and there wouldn't be any need for 'Israeli might' and 'Palestinian resistance'. Instead, Hamas persists in lobbing rockets indiscriminately into Israel.
After any war resistance is likely to be the initial aim, a desperate need to turn the result around and reclaim that you consider yours. But there comes a time when the losing side has to accept defeat and no longer ruin any ability for they and their fellow citizens to have a decent life. It is knowing when that point has been reached that is the million dollar question. Balance is a difficult thing to reach.
