I am pretty sure you'll be advised to run the free version of Malwarebytes.
Is it just on AB or on any site?
Question Author
mainly on here factor.
It is possible that a PUP (potentially unwanted programme) has got into your computer. Consequently it is worth downloading and giving a scan with the free edition of Malwarebytes. Do Not click the premium edition.

You might be surprised at the results which a scan produces.

Incidentally, what browser are you using ?

Hans.
Question Author
Thanks hans, I am using Google Chrome. Thanks too factor, I have downloaded it.
A scan might take a half an hour or so but will be well worth it.

Let us know how it goes. Some strange things happen with Google Chrome.

I have downloaded it but I can't seem to be able to run it, oh dear I am hopeless with computers, don't have a clue!
I've just clicked on my Malwarebytes and it's installed a new version and provided a prompt saying I've never run a scan (not true!), and Scan Now, which I will do. You used to get a choice of quick scan and deep scan; the latter took quite a while.
Question Author
yes jno I have just done the same and it has run through now, thanks all.
I'm pleased you sorted it but I have to agree with Hans in that Google Chrome is a joke.
Question Author
Well I always had trouble with Explorer, who do you recommend as a good browser then?
I use Firefox and have for years. tried Chrome but couldn't get on with it at all.
I love Chrome!
Each to their own. I use Firefox as my default Browser but have Internet Explorer; SeaMonkey and Safari as 'back-ups'. I have got rid of everything which has a Google tag because you are continually tracked by the organisation and are subjected to targeted advertising, even if you take precautions to avoid pop-ups etc. My search Engine is Bing which I honestly think is better than Google.

@jno.....You are deemed Not to have run a scan until you do so with the new version of Malwarebytes.

@pips1....Did Malwarebytes find anything untoward.?

You can download Firefox from :-

https://mozilla.org.uk/

Question Author
Hans, yes Malwarebytes did, in fact there are pop ups coming up several times a day saying they have blocked unwanted data so thanks again.
