I served nearly 20 years, been back in Civvies for a good few years now,
I still had to look it up to see if the Goalposts had been moved though.

I went to the wedding of my goddaughter's bro at the end of May.

His best man was a Captain in the Army and has served three tours on the front line in Afghanistan.

His view, "I would leave - leading 32 men on the front in some pretty awful living conditions, then the tensions of every time the guys go out is bad enough. Putting women in there with all that requires re sanitation and the rest, never mind relationships, no way. However, if the Army comes up with all-female killer squads to serve on the front, led by a female officer or a very-well trained male one, then I wouldn't say no to that."

An interesting perspective for someone aged 30.
