Last night at bedtime my 6 year-daughter said "At school Mrs W. says that mums and dads put the money under the pillow, not the fairies, is that true?"

Can you believe it???? I adored writing the little fairy notes, making names up for fairies, all the magic. I had to tell her Mrs W was right. I feel like shattering a few of Mrs W's dreams right now!

I clung on to belief in magic long after others dropped it, then was disillusioned.

So with my children I took the line "some people say" the fairies put the money there, and "how do you think it got there?" in the hope that when they started questioning it would be a story we'd made up together, not a lie I'd told them.

I got a friend who used to tell her children that the tooth fairy was on strike or if it was bank holiday that she was taking extra time off !! it worked for her
You could say that Mummy has to leave the money, because the fairies are too little to carry it when they fly, but it's the fairy who writes the letter ;-)

sunflower, heres something to show Mrs W!!! Lol!
