When you lock up for the night do you leave your keys in the door or take them out and why?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I lock and remove keys and put them in exactly the same place each night so that myself and/or OH can grab them if there is a fire. They are out of view. I take them out as someone could just put the window through in the door and turn the key and be in in a jiffy.

Porch door locked, keys out, so that no-one can pinch them through the letter box,
Front door ( which is on a 90 degree angle to the porch door, and has no letter box) door locked keys left in it.
back door locked , keys in.
conservatory, door locked keys out, dont know why, just always been done that way.
