Lasagna Sauce Mix.

For the first time ever I bought one of these from a very reputable manufacturer.
Got all the meat, onions etc cooking away nicely. Come to make up the sauce, using the instructions on the packet. My normal measuring jug had something in so I had to use one that was not marked in pints and parts of.
I followed the metric measurements. Added boiling water to jug and added the powder. It turned into thick goo. Difficult to stir. Looked at packet and the measurements said, 1/4 pint of water or 150 ml. Now I know I'm an old wrinkly but isn't 1/4 pint equal to 300ml?
They did the same for the white sauce. 1/2 pint of milk or 300 ml.
I tried to add more water but it would not thin out properly, still very thick and very lumpy. I tasted it and it was revolting. OH tried it too, he said if you use it I will not be eating the lasagne it's vile.
I threw it away and made my own sauce as I always do.
I have emailed the company , will be interesting to see what they have to say.

the best thing to do is to send them back the empty packet with a covering letter, then they can trace the batch, record the said letter then they cannot say it did not reach, they usually send you a voucher for £5 or sometimes £10 for your trouble, but e mail you could be making the whole thing up.
If you had done as ubasses suggested or put in food mixer and added more water a little at a time that should have done the trick, better still if in a hurry buy made up sauces in a little tub ready for pouring. Better luck next time .
