In fairness, the obvious answer to the OP question, "what can I do" is "find a job". Given the benefit of the doubt that you are trying and have not yet found one, and that you are entitled to Dole, the next obvious answer is to talk to the folk at the benefit office and see why there has been a problem. If you sit back and hope then nothing may change. You need to talk to those involved.

I was made redundant and the last time I signed on was in the 90,s so this is for person who jumps to conclusion beside I don't think I should have gone in to any details

Trying to find the right phone number for chasing up missing JSA payments can be a nightmare. However I see that I've still got it stored on my mobile phone (because I used to be constantly signing off JSA to do casual work, and then signing back on again, resulting in the system frequently getting my payments wrong).

Robin ~ you will find that the majority of staff at the Jobcentre are really helpful and will try to find out what has gone wrong.

I was unfortunate/fortunate to have worked for DWP but that was 10 years ago and much has changed since then.
