hello, i recently split from my long term partner, she asked me to leave our rentedf accomadation and children so i did. I have been religiously paying her the correct amount of money as prescribed by the csa on their website with no animosity between either party, an amicable seperaion i guess youd call it.

Today i receive a call from CSA (DWP) asking for my details. Anyway i know i have done no wrong so thats not a problem.

We lived together for 13 years and had 2 kids i just need to know that by law if a loan is taken out in 1 partys name and the funds are used for the benefit of the family can the non named partner on the loan be liable for half the debt ? many thanks if you can help

If a loan is in the sole name of an individual then only that individual has legal liability for it. The creditor cannot pursue anyone else, regardless of what the money was used for.
