Disappearing Emails In Outlook

I have a laptop using Windows 7 and Outlook 2003.
Just lately I have been noticing that emails from some people have been disappearing after I have read them and others just vanish without showing on the screen.
I have even tried forwarding them from web mail but they too won't appear.

Any thoughts from members?
