Please cheer me up!
This time last year I was so happy...living away at uni, new boyfriend and nothing to worry about. Now I feel so depressed. I am in a crap job which is leading me nowhere because I can't make up my mind what I actually want to do and don't even know where to start....my relationship has gone downhill to the point where I don't know if we will last much longer. All in all I am just so fed up and I think it is leading from one thing to another....ie I'm fed up at work which makes me miserable all the time which then makes my relationship suffer which then makes me even more grumpy at work etc etc etc. I know everyone gets the blues after uni is over but all my friends are doing so well I just feel so stuck in a rut (work and relationship) and don't know how to get out. Anyone else had this? What did you do? What should I do?!

Life is made of ups and downs. When I am down I try to think about all the times Ive been Up and happy. How you feel and the emotions you go through will never last forever, whether they are good or bad. Everything is always changing. Constant motion. Try to take things one at a time. OK, your job. You're not really stuck in your job (even though you may feel that way), no one is forcing you to stay there, so you CAN get out. And if it's not easy right now to do that for whatever reason, then when the time IS right, it will just happen.
Relationships can be stressfull. If you are truly in love with this guy then sit down with him and tell him how you are feeling about everything. Tell him how you feel its like a cycle...him.. work.. him..work. You need to be honest with oneanother. But if it does come to an end, it will be alright. There is someone else, or something else that will come your way. When one door closes another opens...ALWAYS. It's constant. These rough times (that are more then normal) only make us stonger humanbeings.
ah... the trials and tribulations of life... no, i'm not being condescending, i'm thinking back to my own life...
what you're doing just now is finding your feet in the real world... it's the same education that you were given at uni, but now it's up to you... no tutorials, no lectures... every day is as much of a tutorial as you want to make it... and let me tell you, all your mates AREN'T doing so well... you're just concentrating on the ones that are, or say they are...
time is a wonderful thing... let it pass, but use it... you hate yer job ? look for a new one... next week ? next month ? why not start lookin tomorrow ? why not ?
when things are bad, change things...
so easy to say from the outside, but so difficult to do from the inside... i know...
DO IT !!!
I'll share a little about my situation. I am 24 and have just moved from Manhattan where I was working as a performer, back to my home town of Rochester, NY. Close to Canada. I was getting tons of work in Manhattan, and saw that I could really have a life performing. But I just hated living that type of life. You're without your family, can't go to family gatherings, miss holidays, almost impossible to be in a relationship going from job to job..state to state. And my boyfriend of 5 years lives here where my family lives. So I packed up and came home. I don't know whats going to happen, I know I hate my job, and Im not using my talents at all. Im with my family, friends and my boyfriend. But I feel like I don't have much direction like I use to. But Im not going to give up because I know things will get better. I know doors will open for me here just like they did in NYC! I felt ahead of the game and now I feel behind, but thats normal, we just gotta keep moving. Hang in there girl. The sun always rises. xxcheers
