Clinical Trials For Money
8 Answers
Just seen a pst from eddie which gave me this idea. Is there a fast track way to do this? Do you get to pic what they put into you so you can research the possible side effects of the substance first? How quick are you paid and what are the pros and cons?

Loads more sites. I'm pretty sure they make you aware of the side effects / hazards.

You can't pick what they test , you see the information sheet and decide if you want to do the trial.
I got offered it as my wife has been doing trials at the same hospital and for this one they need healthy males over 50.
Trials are normally at the big teaching hospitals that are associated with universities this one is at Addenbrokes Cambridge in association with the University of Cambridge . So it helps to be near such a place.

I took part in research into genes and Bipolar Disorder.
I didn't get paid but had to do a few psychology thingies - puzzles both on and off the computer. Hand and finger prints were taken - can't remember the reason why. Then I got taken over to another hospital in a taxi and got a brain scan in a MRI machine. I have a picture of my brain in my office/study.
It was fun and I was well treated.

Maybe i'm rushing into this as i'm pretty desperate. I'd hate to think if something happens to me in the future like i can't have kids or something else and wonder whether it was the result of the trial or not. I do need money but i also need my health. Some deep thinking looms. Thanks all for the food for thought.
