What's The Worst Meal A Family Member Has Cooked For You ? ?

Mine was my dear MIL who told us she was cooking a meat and potato pie for our tea after a five hour journey to get to her. We were starving and eagerly sat down on arrival to be greeted with lumps of tinned corned beef that had been warmed in water, topped by almost raw sliced spuds!! Yuk !! - she was quite pleased with it!
(My hubby was surrounded by blokes complaining about the food when he first joined the RN, he loved it, having been used to his mum's efforts for the previous 26 years!!)

That's what she used to say to us "stop moaning and eat your faggots", there would have been a swear word in there somewhere as well :)

The lasagne my MIL made, bless her. She didn't have any lasagne sheets so she used 'twists' and as FIL doesn't like pasta she'd put boiled potatoes in and for some strange reason, sprouts!

Most of the food my mother cooked. The veg went on at the same time as the meat & was boiled to oblivion.

I was a poor eater when I was younger (have made up for it now LOl) - my mother used to hide cod liver oil tablets throughout the mashed potatoes - so when you thought you were biting into lovely mashed potatoes - you bit into one of these. On reflection maybe that is why I was a poor eater.

Tea at future M in Laws, plate with a few limp lettuce leaves, halved tomatoes and a slice of ham.

His parents didn't eat with us but sat and watched as we ate this 'salad.'
