Had to be up early as it was our U3A committee meeting. Then picked granddaughter up to take her to Birmingham Airport for her flight to Croatia to join her parents and siblings who are already out there. She didn't want to go out with the others as she wanted to get her A level results before she went.
She got two B's and two C's so she has done enough to stay on at school and do the other four exams next year. She's a bit disappointed as she was one mark off an A. But at least she can go back to school next month. They are really strict on grades now, if you don't get what they say is the minimum you have left school.
She was terrible nervous about flying on her own, she has never done it before but she managed very well and arrived safely.
We both feel absolutely shattered after our day, but hey! That's what Nanas and Bampys are for!
Sound like you've had a hectic day Caran. Congratulations on your granddaughter's results. I'd have thought BBCC at 'A' level (actually the same as mine many year's ago) was plenty enough to go to Uni. Why is she staying on at school? Is she doing even more 'A' levels?
Yes Calibax, they spread it over two years now but if you don't get the grades in the first year of exams you are out. She is taking a further four exams and then hopefully UNI.
