I recently had a brain scan which has shown a small scar in the left cerebellum. The radiographer has asked me to return for more imaging in this area.Ive never had a head injury in my life. Can anyone explain a possible cause?
I have had a similar experience as after an Mri I was told I had scarring in the right hemisphere. When I questioned this the neurologist said it was often associated with migraines, which I have suffered from all my life. This might explain your scarring?
Thanks chanel5.As a rule I dont get many headaches and i think ive only had one migraine many years ago and it wasnt pleasant so I cant imagine what you continue to go through. Thanks for replying and all the best to you.
This happens quite a lot - someone has a brain scan for whatever and a completely unrelated thing is found... I think the rate is around 4%
They want to do more imaging and then the whole lot will be reported by the radiologist and reviewed by whomever sent you for the can in the first place.
Try to be cool about this
I know you are thinking - be cool - it could be an alien !
no it isnt. it is likely to small and unimportant.
saw this under another thread about mri. I trust you're well? (You have been posting recently).
Just rhetorically, are you left or right handed? It might be a pre-natal or birth-related injury. Left cerebellum controls muscle coordination on the body's right side.
Hypo - thanks for asking, I had a second scan which revealed no abnormality so all is well. I am right handed, all my earlier problems were left sided. A strange one!
