Stowaway Problem In French Ports

an idea to solve this stowaway in lorries problem would be for the lorries etc to have an area covered with cctv cameras for the drivers to check the vehicle immediately before boarding ferry or train along with a head cam showing what the driver sees as has searches the lorry and tag the recording of it to that number plate.that would prove the driver has done all he could have. the head cams are not expensive for a driver to buy ,and the port authority could supply the cctv area its a dam sight cheaper than being find £1000 per stowaway

Don't know how much it would cost to install - but there are body-heat sensors which would pick up stowaways. Just an idea...

agree jourain but the driver needs cctv prof he has done all he can.
btw there are carbon dioxide sniffers that can detect stowaways but thats when they get to the uk, the drivers then get "done" for transporting them unknowingly

One thing it certainly needs is for the French Authorities to accept their responsibilities for Border Control and act on it on all their Borders, not just the Channel/UK one!

Baldric This lorry came from Zeebrugher which is not in France.

You do realise that France is the largest country,by land mass, in the EU,and it is an almost impossible task for them to police all their borders,although I can assure you that they try their best.
