TV Remote Control

OK, I might sound like I'm going mad or away with the fairies but, I've just been round my friends house and her TV Remote Control is working. You might not think that's weird but you will when I say that it didn't have any batteries in. This is impossible right????

No not necessarily, if there is a capacitor in the remote control, it can store an electrical charge for a while and remotes don't use a great deal of power, though why anyone would want to put a capacitor in a T.V remote is beyond me (unless it helps prolong battery life)

It is a very basic remote control and TV though.....

A good trick to try on your friends - give them an old remote with no batteries and get them to try it on your TV. Meanwhile you press the buttons on the cunningly concealed real remote. Majeeeeeek.

It' a strange 1 Paul however it sounds as if it's not impossible if it still works the telly.I remember seeing a sony universal remote control that had a solar strip on it so it worked of light also.Does this remote have something like this.
