Ignorant drivers who fail to acknowledge you after you let them through when there's an obstruction on your side of the road

How difficult is it for some people to raise their hand above the dashboard?

Annoyance no.2

Drivers who slow down then indicate

No mirror, manoeuvre, signal
Highway code or not, I do agree with you, JL - our road is a rat run from the local supermarket with cars parked on both sides, rude drivers just keep coming even if I am heading for a parking space. A hand raised costs nothing.

Talking of our road - what really pees me off is when I am parallel parking, ignorant drivers (particularly taxi drivers, here) who persist in driving right up to my bumper while I am trying to reverse into the kerb. No pressure, then.
Tailgating!
It never ceases to amaze me, the number of expensive cars costing tens of thousands of pounds, and the manufacturers forget to fit indicators. How they get through their first MOT bewilders me.
The one that gets me is when you are queuing for petrol and the person at the pump takes (what seems like) 20 mins to start the car and drive off - i want to nudge them a bit to get them off the pump.
Slow news day??
So joeluke you raise your hand and acknowledge drivers obeying the Highway Code. Does this include raising your hand to cars waiting at a junction to emerge into a main road as you pass - does it include raising your hand to the front car waiting to enter a roundabout as you pass on the roundabout - does it include drivers at a red light when you pass on green - etc etc etc - must make your arm ache after a bit. And if it doesn't why do you pick out this one particular case ?
Tailgaters and people who don't use their indicators bug me.
so by your logic i should thank every single car i encounter (because they are driving on the correct side of the road perhaps?)

canary......your examples are at junctions/red lights and so are not relevant to the issue

I'm talking about acknowledging someone on the open road where the road markings/red lights are not dictating you stop

black cat........only if they allow you to continue your journey by stopping due to an obstruction on their side of the road
I understand where you are coming from Joeluke.
It's not difficult to acknowledge decency.
Seems pretty easy to pick fault and point the finger though.
