Power Saw
Can anyone recommend a power saw that I can use without coming into any danger. A small thing suitable for a lady?

I use a Black and Decker powered handsaw which might suit you. I used it to chop up a three piece suite so I could get it out the front door. http:// www. argos. co. uk/ static/ Product/ partNumber/ 7112719. htm

If the depth of cut of a jigsaw is less than th thickness of the wood you wish to cut then when the blade hits the wood at the bottom of it's cut it will vibrate and possibly jump out of your hand. A panel saw would be your best option and would be just as quick by the time you have got your power saw set up and you have learnt how to use it. (more versatile too)

Requires more muscle too jopmifl, but you are correct than one needs to ensure the blade is long enough to go all the way through at both ends of the stroke, although working your way around from all sides can minimise such issues.
Those are not "ladies" C&J, and 'tools' not 'toys' ;-)
Yes getting a man in for a pint is a distinct possibility. But give the pint AFTERWARDS.
