There was a song played in this club, and it sounds a lil bit like cotton eye joe, some of the lyrics are something liike "she is pretty, he is handsome" then it has a lot of like fiddles i reckon!

Ok seeing as nobody else is going to own up to knowing what this is, i will. Its Tell Me Ma, lots of people have sung it but cant remember the name of the cheese meisters that did this one.

I will be sad enough to admit that the version you probably heard was by Sham Rock -quite an upbeat clubby version and really sad people will know it was on one of the Now compilations a few years ago. That's my credibility gone folks!

It's a children's skipping song from Belfast, and Van Morrison recorded it in 1985 on the album Irish Heartbeat that he made with The Chieftains.
