I think that I invented a new winter cereal some years back which believe me takes some beating. I call it Treaclewheat Porridge. Place two Wheatabix biscuits in a bowl, dribble a desert spoon of Golden Syrup over it & then add hot milk & stir into a porridge consistency. Yum Yum.

Sounds yummy - wonder if it would work with Black Treacle - have 2 tins of it for some reason.
We used to have that when we were kids! Reminds me of winter mornings getting dressed in the kitchen 'cos our bedroom windows had frost on the inside.
That sounds nice but it would be too sweet for me.
Mamyalynne, were you planning to use it to make scones? Though I think 2 tins would have made a fair few treacle scones

Sounds yummy - you get the same effect if you leave Weetabix in cold milk for half an hour if you forget about them :-)
Treacle scones sound good, I like it on a butty.
I used to pour liquid toffee syrup on cereal. Yummy but vicious to my waistline and skin complexion.
I prefer hot milk to cold so I usually have hot cereals and I used to have wheatabix with hot milk and something to sweeten it.

Now I just have ready brek or oat so simple.
Sounds lovely - maybe would be good with honey instead of golden syrup? For a lighter alternative I suppose dried cranberries (made by Ocean Spray)would give it a hint of sweetness instead? I use those in my Scotts porridge oats - but no sugar.
I believe weetabix brought out a golden syrup version, also a chocolate version.
I'd not call that a new cereal, I'd call it a serving suggestion.
Weetabix with butter and honey spread on it!
