I was surprised (not sure why!) to discover that Michael Portillo was paid �15,000 to 'swop' roles with a single mum of four. Was the single mum paid anything? And don't you think Michael could make a contribution towards, perhaps, a new washing machine if she wasn't??

it was a shameless publicity stunt by one of the most duplicitous political shapeshifters of the last 50 years. HE shouldnt have been paid as he was getting a free career boost from it. I only hope the mum was paid more. i mean i cant think of an amount of money that would make me allow such spawn of darkness across my threshhold.
